WINGATE—Ivan E. Shobe, 57, a lifelong resident of Wingate, died early Saturday morning at his home in Wingate. He had been in failing health 12 years. Mr. Shobe was the son of Edgar and Lillian Shobe. He married Hattie M. Vandament April 2, 1919 in Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Wingate IOOF Lodge and the Crawfordsville Eagles Lodge. Before his health failed he had worked as a painter. Survivors include the widow, two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Crane and Mrs. Elodie Williams, both of Wingate, and a brother, Noble Shobe, also of Wingate. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wingate Methodist Church, with burial at the Wingate Greenlawn Cemetery. Rev. Richard Ludden will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the Dickerson Funeral Home in Stockwell. The body will lie in state at the church two hours preceding the rites.
